Mission Statement
Music for the liminal, the in-between and the change of the seasons.
A new label created to house the sound of Lostalgia: the sound of a place or time that might never have existed.
Music made by people for people. No algorithms, no social media, no AI, no big tech, no attention economy. Just music for enjoyers, collectors and outliers.
It's not quite nostalgia. Nostalgia reaches back for something real, a place, a moment, a version of yourself you remember.
Lostalgia reaches for something that may never have existed at all.
It's the ache for a dancefloor you never stood on, a city at 4am you never visited, music from that endless summer you never had.
That feeling is what this label exists to capture.
"Longing for a past
that never existed."

Jason Plates is a London-based DJ and producer.
Jason has been DJing for over a decade, playing everything from disco to dubstep to dancehall. These days he channels that breadth into something more focused, producing and curating sounds that don't fit anywhere else.
Lostalgia Studios is more than a personal project; it's a place to preserve and archive the sounds that capture the spirit of lostalgia.
"I make music in a lot of styles, but all of it is chasing the same feeling: lostalgia. That longing for a past that never existed and a future that never came.
After a decade on the open format gig circuit, I stopped chasing the zeitgeist and started curating sounds that felt truer to me. Music that fell through the cracks, songs evoking sonder, combining to make something not quite past, present or future.
I didn't create lostalgia. I just try to capture it."

Debut LP. Eleven tracks spanning UKG, breakbeat, dubstep, house, inspired by aesthetics like outrun and vaporwave. Last Ones Left moves through the joy of what was, the grief of losing it, and the slow work of rebuilding.
