Longing for a past that never existed.
Jason Plates is a London-based producer and DJ. His music sits somewhere between what you remember and what you felt. UKG rhythms out of place in time. Broken beats that breathe. Euphoric house that takes its time getting there.
He started Lostalgia Studios in 2020 and formally launched it in 2026. It exists outside the usual machinery. No industry. No algorithm. No social media. Just sharing good music with friends, like we used to.
After years working weddings and a long stretch of silence, he is back with his debut album Last Ones Left. Eleven tracks. A journey from dark to something that feels like resolution. Pressed on vinyl. Built to last.
Never rooted in one style, Jason plays:
All with a distinct flavour of lostalgia.
Lostalgia Studios started with one idea: the best music travels person to person, not algorithm to feed. A back-to-basics music philosophy, not to restore what was lost, but capture a new version of the past that only exists through listening.
"Breathing brutalism; green bursting from concrete. Human-made, with no expectation of virality, only resonance."
Jason Plates
Last Ones Left moves through the joy of what was, the grief of losing it, and the slow work of rebuilding.
Mixes, remixes and mashups on SoundCloud. Originals at jasonplates.bandcamp.com.
Sets drawn from his own productions, a decade on the open-format circuit, and a vinyl collection built over just as long. He moves between tempos and textures, never locked to one BPM or genre. Always in service of the room. Available for club bookings, private events and festival slots.
"I wanted to make the music I wanted to hear, but didn't exist yet. These are the artists that most inspired the Jason Plates sound along the way."
